Thaine Taylor - last Uncle of my Dad's Family Passes on.

LOA - Our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, uncle and friend, Thaine Taylor, 99, died Dec. 21, 2007, at his home in Loa.He was born Jan. 19, 1908, in Loa, a son of Levi Allen and Rhoda Catherine Jameson Taylor.He married Lydia Patra Allen Dec. 1, 1927, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. She died Dec. 12, 2002.Thaine was the oldest resident of Wayne County. He was 28 days short of living 100 years.Thaine was an active member of the LDS church, serving as president of the Loa ward and Wayne stake YMMIA, Sunday school president, home teacher, high priest group leadership, Manti temple ordinance worker with his wife, Patra, and a primary teacher.He was a charter member of the Wayne Wonderland Lion's Club. He was an officer in the local, state and national soil conservation districts for 29 years; founding member of the Road Creek Water Users Association and Parker Mountain Grazers Association; and served as Wayne County assessor.Thaine worked hard, he sheared sheep, farmed, raised cattle and grew certified seed potatoes.He helped construct Geneva Steel in Provo, cut sandstone blocks for the Wayne County Courthouse and helped build the cultural hall for the Loa, Utah - Wayne - Stake tabernacle. He worked in the CCC program building roads on Boulder Mountain. His retirement was spent working for Fish Lake and Dixie National Forests. He loved being included and involved with his family.Thaine is survived by his two daughters, Marsha Lynn and Don Chappell, Loa; Rhenon and Steve Sannar, Bountiful; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patra; two great-grandsons; his brothers and sisters, Alford, Leonard, Owen, Wayne, Merlin, Stanford, Quenten, Elvira Dastrup, Viola T. Rees, Arletta Taylor, Loa Johansen, Nola Hunt and Norma Madsen.The family would like to express thanks to Gunnison Home Health and Hospice, especially to Teri, Tasha, Connie, Sarah, Carl and Dr. Jeff Chappell, for their help, concerns and care of our Dad.Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m., in the Loa LDS stake center.Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Thursday evening, Dec. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., or at the stake center Friday morning from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., prior to the services.Interment will be in the Loa Cemetery.Funeral directors, Springer Turner, Richfield, Salina and Gunnison.
