Sourthern Utah Trip Sept. 12-16, 2011

Jo and I with a couple of our good friends took a week and visited southern Utah.  We visited Cedar Breaks National Monument, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park.  Below are just a sample of pictures taken.  This is such a beautiful part of our state.  There is no way to even see it all in one week.  Such a fun trip.
One of the more interesting rocks found in Zion National Park
This is what I call the Magic Door of Zion National Park

Milt holding up this huge rock along the Riverwalk trail.  Amazing strength.

Another interesting rock configuration

This Volkswagon Beatle was our mode of transpertation.

July 14, 2010 Jo and I visited the Palmyrah temple just south of town. Temple was decaded in 2ooo.

This is a replica of the log cabin that the prophet Joseph lived in.

Visiting the Sacred Grove was a peaceful and spiritual experience that we will always charish.

Jo and Milt in Sacred Grove.

Here is the Grandin Printing Company where the five thousand copies of the Book of Mormon were publish. It was amazing to see how the two year project took place.

Ohio, Michigan Trip June 28 thru July 11, 20009

Jo and I had the privilege of going to Ohio and Michigan this summer. Milton had to work at a couple of the hotels his owners have in Streetsboro, Ohio. The greater part of the trip was in Michigan where we attended the annual convention of the National Federation of the Blind. The pictures below are just a very small sampling of our trip experience but it gives you an idea of what we did and where we went.

While Milton worked at the hotels Jo got to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. Pretty neat.

The afternoon of June 30th Jo and I drove down to Canton, Ohio and visited the Professional Football Hall of Fame.

After our visit to the Football Hall of Fame we had lunch at Hog Haven, a barbecue restaurant. Great food!

On our way to Detroit, Michigan we stopped in Hiram, Ohio and visited the John Johnson Home. Joseph Smith lived here from Sept. 1831 to Sept. 1832. Jo and I are standing in the revelation room where Joseph at 16 of the revelations in the D & C. The 76th section of the D & C was revealed here.

Here is a photo of the Kirtland Temple. It was nice to have a tour but since it isn't owned by the church (LDS) the information you would expect of this temple was not present. Seemed a bit musty inside as well.

Here is Milton standing in front of the Newell K. Whitney store.

Jo is here at the Detroit tiger stadium while seeing a bit of the city.

While at the Henry Form Museum in Dearborn, Michigan Jo and I saw many a fine old vintage car. This is one of them.

How about this car, the Oscar Meyer car.

After the museum we walked over to Greenfield Village where their was a lot more history about Henry Ford and Thomas Edison. They were contemporaries.

This hotel is the Marriott Renaissance Center Hotel down by the Detroit river. This is where we stayed during the convention.

On July 10th we went up to Frankenuth, Michigan, a Small German town founded in 1845. Bonners is the largest Christmas store in the world. If is 2 football fields in length.

This was a very pretty town with window box planters and the whole bit.

May 31 through June 6, 2009 -

The first week of June Jo and I attended my last uncle of 23 aunts and uncles funeral in Mesa, Arizona. 105 degrees in Meas. We did have a chance to cool off though as we took the opportunity to spend some time at the Grand Canyon. Here are a couple of pictures.
